One of the primary environmental strengths of Benalmádena Eco Park is to consider what it replaces. Previously, the site was an uncovered car parking and was still being excavated by surrounding random private gardens and houses.
The strategy of replacing an almost uninhabitable terrain with a new natural habitat is perhaps in principle the biggest environmental success of Benalmádena Eco Park.
