La solución que aportamos al concurso es la de preservar la integridad del diseño de 1880 del ingeniero francés M. Allemandy, rehabilitada a su estado original. Cercana al puerto de aquella época, este tipo de estaciones de trenes funcionaban como puertas a las ciudades dado su valor emblemático.
The answer preserves the integrity of french engineer Mr. Allemandy 1880´s design, which is renovated to its original state. Close to the main harbour of that time, these train stations usually worked as contemporary main doors with their emblematic value. Been extremely respectful to this fact, we restore the blast furnace as a proud icon of Alicante, encouraging pride for the important heritage it represents.
Esta apertura e informalidad da cobijo a una interacción entre los diferentes actores dando sostén a nuevas formas de interactuar con el edificio pudiendo desarrollarse programas nocturnos para la comunidad.
Siendo extremadamente respetuoso a este hecho, restauramos el fulgor de antaño como un icono arquitectónico de Alicante del que sentirse orgulloso por parte de la ciudadanía del importante legado que ella representa.
Our answer to the main question held at the contest is to ensure its legacy spaces restored to their original architectural significance while the central core of the building has been replaced and reimagined with a stunning industrial artefact which contains the auditorium.
